We are Back!!!

Its been a long time since anyone wrote anything on this page.

Life has been quite out of control and I don't even get to spend time at the park as much as i used to.

This doesn't mean that my beloved Stevie doesn't get his exercise, he comes to training most nights and all day Saturday & Sunday, something he just loves doing.

I am going to spend a little more time trying to run this little gem of a website and let people know what is going on in the area.

Urban Dog Training have built heaps more courses of that I am now part of, courses such as a new Off Leash Course. It is a wonderful course written by Tina Quinn one of Urbans behavioural trainers. Tina is also working on an Advanced Training Course too. we are waiting in anticipation for the final draft.

Urban Dog Training are now running a FREE Puppy Play session on Sundays from 4pm - 5pm. This session is for puppies that 8 - 16 weeks old. there is a coffee van on site, perfect for keeping everyone warm as the temperature drops.

To come along to puppy play you will need to ring Urban Dog Training on 3390 8840 or email puppyplay@urbandogtraining.com.au to book. if you are an existing client of Urban Dog Training you can just come along. You will need to bring your most up to date vaccination certificate with your puppy. this is a great way to help socialise your puppy as he will meet heaps of people, children, puppies and older stable dogs (belonging to the trainers).

If you have any good ideas please post them, send me the pictures of your beloved four legged friend.

Urban Dogs Bored To Death

“Boredom is killing Australian dogs”, says Behavioural Dog Trainer, Danielle Dickinson. Bored dogs often resort to making their own fun in ways their owners do not approve of, like barking, pulling washing off the line, digging up the flowerbeds or chewing shoes. It is for these reasons that many dogs end up in pounds and shelters across the country.
Sadly, it is estimated that around 40% of surrendered dogs are put down. Each year thousands of healthy dogs are destroyed for problems that could have been easily avoided.
How would you know your dog is bored? The tell tale signs are excessive barking, destructive chewing, digging, hyperactivity and escaping.

However, Danielle says you can stop your dog being bored. For example by providing stimulating mental puzzles, play dates and making them work for their daily food.

Think your dog is bored? Danielle, head trainer at Urban Dog Training, is conducting a unique seminar for all owners of bored pooches, “Backyard Fun for the Home Alone Dog” where she will share her expert tips and tricks on teaching dogs to enjoy spending time alone. Thanks to Danielle’s techniques, many dogs are now leading more fulfilling, stimulating lives. One happy dog owner with a pooch that is no longer bored sums it up in this way “A tired dog is a good dog!”

The seminar will be held on Tuesday 18th September, 6:00pm – 9:00pm at:

Canine Comfort - Shop 16, Eastside Village, 696 New Cleveland Rd, GUMDALE QLD.

The cost is $10 per person. This includes light refreshments and a Goodie Bag containing product samples, vouchers and discount coupons worth in excess of $70.00. All are welcome; however places are limited so bookings are essential. Anyone interested should contact Danielle Dickinson on 0406 678 645 or visit http://www.urbandogtraining.com.au
